Air China eyes new Airbus jets

Air China wants to buy wide-bodied jets from Airbus and Boeing, including the A350 and B787 jets, in a move aimed at revamping its fleet.

The Beijing-based national flag carrier said talks with the aircraft manufacturers also involve exchanging some of its used aircraft for new ones but did not give more details.

Air China is that country’s biggest international airline and has a fleet of 256 jets.

Wings for the A350 - Airbus’ latest, long haul, mid-sized airliner - are due to go into production at the company’s Broughton plant, Flintshire, next year.
